Welcome to the first installment of Mic Check - a different kind of interview where turn the mic on myself and share part of the lifestyle, training, and lessons of leading a life of riding and outdoor adventure. This interview is special because I bring my children forward and have them give their thoughts and reflection on how life was like having a mom who was training. I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve but things related to my children, I keep those cards close to my heart.
Their voice literally have a lot of value. As a parent, I have try to imagine what lessons and values they are learning but they have their own story to tell. Poetically and to the point. Originally, I was going to share my story solo; and later asked them if they wanted to be part of it.
Serena 17 and Jade 21 both happily wanted to participate. The girls received the questions prior to this interview, as to not blind side them. Alex 15 didn't want to be interviewed live; however, I share her responses to these questions at the end. I really loved this conversation and glad it was recorded.
I will cherish this and would be fun to see how their feelings and thoughts evolve over time. We recorded this interview as a Zoom Meeting on the computer so there is a little distortion in the sound when the computer wasn't facing the speaker.

Open the Recording tab and look for the Cloud Recording option. Once found, enable this option and confirm the changes. You can customize the settings once enabling the option. You can pick your recording layout and decide other things you want to record. You can pick whether to record the audio or save the chat as well. You can get transcriptions of these audio recordings or add video recording timestamps.
Again, you must have permission from your host to record these meetings. Zoom processes the video as soon as the meeting ends. The app will send you an email once your video becomes available. Make sure to do this with a refreshed mind so you don't stress out when it doesn't work. Zoom fatigue can make you feel burnt out fast and can prevent you from focusing on important items.
The recording process is relatively simple most of the time. The Recording feature is only accessible in Zoom meetings if your host gives permission. If you don't see the Record button on your screen, it means you have no permission. Your first step is to ask for permission from the host to record the session. Browse through the participant list. After finding the right participant, hover over their name.

Expanded audio conferencing Add audio options for everyone. Hi Kari, No, this is not possible. The maximum right now is 4 — this is on the roadmap for Teams and I imagine they are working hard to roll out this change as soon as they can as a lot of teams are wanting this.
We are interested in using Teams to host external webinars for our clients. We have the standards Teams platform not Teams live. How long can we hold a meeting with the version we have? I know for Teams live it is 4 hours. Hello Shelby, sorry it took so long for my response… a non-recorded meeting can be up to 24 hours in duration.
A recorded one can be 4 hours. I am trying to set up a town hall type of meeting, there will be 8 people on the talking all in the same domain , and they want the public to be able to listen to the meeting but not interact in anyway. We are concerned about security as this will be a public meeting, and we have no way of legitimizing anyone who enters the lobby. With Skype for business we were able to create a meeting and then lock down who could present and everyone else would be audio only.
Has this all moved to the Teams Admin site? If so… is this something Microsoft is planning on having the admins have to configure for each client any time they want to have a meeting with limitations?
Hi Morgan, this sounds like a great use-case for a Teams live event. You can certainly configure default options at the Admin level for events like this, but once a user has been granted the ability to create a Teams Live event, they can set it up themselves from within the Teams client.
Typically a public-facing town-hall style meeting like this has some oversight from IT or Communications to help with the delivery. Great rundown Joanne, thank you. Popped up and i ignore it because i was busy. So i had my earplugs plug in my laptop, so not sure if they hear anything. Hi Lily, this is very difficult to troubleshoot at a distance and after-the-fact. I think I know what happened… the person scheduling the meeting likely did so from a Group chat automatically includes everyone in the Group chat on the meeting invitation.
If the meeting is started, whether or not you actually join the meeting, the chat window says you joined it. We were going to move from Webex to Teams, but the limitation of sharing windows has put us off of this. You should be able to toggle through the windows. If you do this, everyone will see your desktop and you can flip between any apps you want without stopping the share. Hope this helps. Pat — you can. We did not have a call in number. During the call several people were connected into a separate meeting even though they were invited to the same meeting. Could you help us determine what we did wrong so this works seamlessly next time. Do you have the meeting options configured to automatically join or do you require attendees to wait in the lobby?

I have been a guest at a number of meetings where the shared document seems to get locked up when the organizer is trying to make notes and updates during the meeting.
Is this a known bug or is there something that the presenter is doing incorrectly? How are they sharing the document?
Are they sharing their desktop and then selecting the word program or are they picking the word application and sharing it that way? Not sure it makes a difference though… also, who is co-authoring on the document?
External guests? So how can you tell if your video is being shown in the feed? Only the last four are on screen in a conference call of, say, 20 people. So if that happens to me, how can I tell if my video indata is being shown to the others, or whether I am not being filmed.

The one piece I continue to have difficulty with is the Chat export. Hi Ray, Attendees do not automatically get emailed a chat export. You would need to use Content Search to get the chat — the chats are stored as individual. In other words, we are trying to limit or control who participates from the external community some external guests may forward the link to others that were not invited by the presenter originally.

By switching back to the first account, using the same Teams meeting set up function from the calendar, all is OK except the meeting ends up in the corresponding calendar, which is less than ideal.

I know they have all received an email invitation with the link to join the meeting. My question is when does that link become active? Is it possible for them to enter a meeting before me not desirable or do they have to wait for me? Can i force mute them, for example? Is it possible to remove a participant from a meeting? And finally, if I end the meeting, does it end it for everyone? It talks about: — prevent attendees from muting each other — prevent attendees from kicking others out — control screen sharing for all attendees.

Though Zoom has added these and other security features like end-to-end encryption , there are still a few things you should watch out for to keep your chats as private as possible. For paid subscribers, Zoom's cloud recording feature can either be a life-saver or a catastrophic faux pas waiting to happen.
If the feature is enabled on the account, a host can record the meeting along with its text transcription and a text file of any active chats in that meeting, and save it to the cloud where it can later be accessed by other authorized users at your company, including people who may have never attended the meeting in question.
Zoom does allow a narrowing of the audience here, however. Administrators can limit the recording's accessibility to only certain preapproved IP addresses, even if the recording has already been shared.
Participants can also see when a meeting is being recorded. In the spring of , Zoom rolled out two privacy improvements aimed at making users more aware of whether a meeting is being recorded.
